BIO
Pedro Cardigo (Lisbon, 1976) is an author, editor, and photographer. He discovered photography at an early age and, after a professional career in management and economics, has been fully dedicated to his artistic practice since 2019.
His work is grounded in photography as a tool for a sensitive reading of space, intersecting architecture, time, and experience. Working predominantly in black and white, his approach is strongly influenced by classical cinema, exploring geometry, light, and the sculptural dimension of architecture, as well as its narrative and atmospheric qualities.
His work has been published in international journals such as Casabella, The RIBA Journal, and ARK Journal, and presented in exhibitions in Portugal and abroad, including SIZA / Pedro Cardigo (Fundação Gramaxo, 2024/25) and Kengo Kuma & Portugal (Tokyo, 2025). In 2025, he published the book Álvaro Siza: Through the Lens of Pedro Cardigo.
He is the founder of the editorial and artistic house ALTRO, un altro modo, and the creator of the arch + collection, dedicated to photographic essays on built architecture. Through these projects, he pursues an ongoing investigation into alternative ways of observing, interpreting, and experiencing space.
